Attie Heunis
Born in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, I moved to London after university to start a career in financial software development—a path merging technology with business strategy. There, I met my wife, Lene. In 2006, we returned to South Africa to open a community farm stall and restaurant, while I simultaneously consulted for major local firms. During this chapter, our daughters, Elke and Cara, were born.
In 2013, I joined a US pharmaceutical software firm, which brought us to Philadelphia in 2015. We’ve since embraced the city’s vibrant spirit and the Eagles' "Go Birds!" culture.
Today, I am a technology executive at a global healthcare tech company focused on driving innovation through leadership. When not working, I enjoy photography, but my heart remains with the African wilderness. Its deserts and bushveld offer a unique, unparalleled allure that I believe everyone should experience at least once.
